Growth Forecasts

Every four years, PPACG uses the Colorado State Demographer's county-level population and job forecasts to prepare its Small Area Forecast. The forecast produces population and employment estimates for 737 small geographic areaS (called traffic analysis zones, or TAZs) within El Paso and Teller counties. The Small Area Forecast covers a 25-year timeframe in five-year increments.

PPACG develops the Small Area Forecast with the close involvement of technical staff from its member governments and economic and community development organizations. The results are used within the agency's travel demand model to project the number of trips (auto, transit and pedestrian) within the region and for preparing the federally required regional transportation plan.

In 2008, PPACG completed the current update of the Small Area Forecast, carried out to the year 2035. Dowload the forecast by clicking here.
