The Pikes Peak region is home to diverse ecosystems, major national forests and state parks, and five watersheds, making environmental health an important public policy issue.

Through its role as the lead air and water quality planning agency, PPACG coordinates regional action on environmental issues such as air pollution and watershed deterioration.
