Through the Fort Carson Regional Growth Plan, the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) is assisting Fort Carson in its efforts to identify compatible uses of land, air, water and other necessary resources near the base to ensure the installation’s ability to train troops. The Fort Carson Regional Growth Plan conducts an inventory, review and assessment of existing municipal and county land use plans and policy documents, which provide guidance for local planning decisions and strategies. The goal is to enhance coordinated planning efforts between the various jurisdictions in the study area.
A Planning and Zoning Partnership Group comprised of representatives from the planning sector meets regularly to help inform this analysis.
