One focus of the Fort Carson Regional Growth Plan is improving the delivery of health care and social services to soldiers and their families. As part of this, the Growth Plan is identifying existing resources and networks as well as recommending improvements based on quantitative analysis and input from military families.
The Fort Carson Regional Growth Plan will assess the adequacy of existing health care/behavior health services to meet the increased demands associated with the increase in troops and their family members. A key component of this will be improving the intake process for these services to make it more efficient, coordinated and easily accessible. Phase Two of the Growth Plan will also determine how various factors (e.g. income, debt, access methods) affect the rates at which services are accessed.
Among the recommendations of the study will be a business and organizational plan for the military community assistance center, including recommendations on ways to expand/improve upon current usage, education/outreach and potential partnerships with existing agencies.
A Social Services Partnership Group and a Health/Behavioral Health Partnership Group meet regularly to help inform this analysis.
