Bicyclist and Pedestrian Crash Maps: The maps on the following pages show the location of reported bicyclist and pedestrian crashes as well as the locations of fatalities within the MPO boundary.
Legend:
- Bicycle Crashes – Crash Severity
- Red circle: Fatal Crash
- Orange circle: Serious Injury
- Green circle: Minor Injury
- Gray circle: Property Damage Only
- Dashed blue: Metropolitan Planning Organization Boundary

The map displays bicyclist and pedestrian crashes throughout the Colorado Springs Metropolitan Planning Organization from 2017 to 2021.
The map shows the following number of dots:
- Red circles, indicating a fatal crash: 11.
- Eight were located within an area bounded by Interstate 25 and Academy Boulevard. One was west of Interstate 25 near Garden of the Gods Road. Two were located near Woodmen Road.
- Orange circles, indicating serious injury: 21
- One was in Woodland Park. One was in the Security/Widefield area. Two were located near North Powers Boulevard and the Research Parkway/Union Boulevard area. Two were located near U.S. Highway 24 and Colorado Boulevard, roughly midway between Interstate 25 and Manitou Springs. One was located in the Gold Hills Mesa area. One was located to the north in the Black Forest area. The remainder were approximately in the area, or just outside the area, bordered by Academy Boulevard and Interstate 25.
- Green circles, indicating minor injury: Approximately 100
- The large majority are located within an area bounded by Interstate 25 and Powers Boulevard. There are single circles in Woodland Park and Monument, and small clusters in the Black Forest region and Security/Widefield.
- Gray circles, including property damage only: Approximately 40
- The crashes are relatively distributed throughout the region, except for the eastern, northeastern and southwestern portions of the Metropolitan Planning Organization
