A vision statement and goals for the plan are key aspects for setting the course of the region and were created as an outcome from input received from Stakeholder Interviews, Regional Transportation Project Advisory Committee (RTPAC), PPACG Committees, and PPACG staff. The vision statement identifies a desired future that will result from implementation of this plan. The project goals serve as guiding principles for selecting the appropriate infrastructure and other investment strategies identified in this plan.
Vision the ATP
The Pikes Peak regional active transportation and roadway systems will comfortably, safely, and efficiently accommodate bicycle and pedestrian transportation. The linking of local and regional attractions will make the region a world-class bicycle and pedestrian destination. Walking and bicycling will become more common, enjoyable, and viable as a transportation and recreation choice that will promote active living and a high quality of life in Colorado’s Pikes Peak region.
