Area Agency on Aging
- SFY25/26 contractors began on July 1 under the new 2-year contract. Three new providers were added to our region.
- Director Jody Barker attended USAging board meetings and the National USAging Conference.
- Staff member Pamela Haughard recognized for 30th anniversary with PPAAA.
- Various staff attended outreach opportunities across the region, including the El Paso County Fair and an event in Teller County.
- Quarterly Provider meeting: staff provided contractual training for current service providers.
Transportation Program
- Continued making progress on the long-range transportation plan (development and outreach), including the Active Transportation Plan and the Specialized Transportation Plan, and also GIS and modeling work necessary to submit GHG reduction scenario models for review by CDPHE
- Continued DriveSmart and grant coordination efforts with the safety grant; conducted multiple presentations and outreach/engagement efforts
- Attended the Central Front Range TPR meeting, July 8
- Attended the Colorado TIP peer exchange, July 9
- Attended the Statewide Transportation Advisory Committee (STAC), July 11
- Held monthly coordination meeting with CDOT, FHWA, FTA and MMT, July 15
- Attended the CDOT Local Agency Coordination meeting, July 16
- Held a PPACG 101 with Town of Monument staff
- Coordinated with our regional grant navigator, Karen Rowe
- Participated in the Colorado Springs Safe Streets for All consultant selection
- Coordinated consultant procurement for the 2024 traffic safety campaign
Military Installation Resiliency
- Worked with team on finalizing the REPI Challenge application, which will be submitted this coming Thurs Aug 8.
- Worked to get Fire Chief and Garrison Commander support letters for REPI Challenge grant from Space Force and USAFA.
- Began the Table top exercise for wildfire by contacting most of the 30 entities that will be participating.
- Met with Andrew Notbohm to discuss Table top approach
- Met with USAFA to refine RFP for Jackson Creek Pre-design study
- Met with Monument Fire District to continue development of a Community Wildfire Protection Plan
- Toured Fort Carson to learn about stormwater system for future table-top exercise
Administration
- Laura Crews, Mobility Coordinator, will be leaving PPACG; her last day is Aug. 15. Angie Martell will be joining PPACG as our Environmental Planner on Aug. 26. Kyndra Carpenter, Family Caregiver Planner, is starting August 21.
- Attended the change of command for Space Base Delta, July 11
- Attended meeting of the Colorado Association of Regional Organizations, July 11
- Convened a meeting of area city/town/county managers, July 17
- We closed on our line of credit with ANB Bank to assist financially when necessary, July 18
- We coordinated a meeting of the Pikes Peak Mayors Caucus, July 19
- Coordinated our monthly call with DRCOG and North Front Range MPO, July 29
- Attended regional visioning coordination meeting, July 31
- Convened a meeting of the Intermountain West MPO air quality work group, Aug. 1
- Attended the changed of command for Fort Carson, Aug. 5
- We conducted a solicitation process for proposals to be PPACG’s state lobbyist; six submittals were received.
STRATEGIC PLAN GOALS

☒ Program Excellence: Continue to excel in the key fundamental areas of PPACG: Military support, Environmental programs, Transportation, Area Agency on Aging, and regional communication and collaboration.
