AGENDA ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER / ESTABLISH A QUORUM / INTRODUCTIONS
Chair Rumsey called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m. A quorum was present.
AGENDA ITEM 2: AGENDA APPROVAL
Ms. Dianna Van Auken motioned to approve, Ms. Rosa McCormack seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
AGENDA ITEM 3: CONSENT ITEMS
These items will be acted upon as a whole, unless they are called up for discussion by a committee member or a citizen wishing to address the committee.
- Approval of minutes from the January 23, 2024 meeting.
Valerie Anders motioned to approve, Ms. Dianna Van Auken seconded. The motion carried unanimously
AGENDA ITEM 4: PUBLIC COMMENTS/PRESENTATIONS
- Public Comments. Public comments can be made before or during the meeting. Public comment during the meeting is limited to three minutes and can be done at the meeting location or remotely by using the posted Microsoft Teams link. Individuals are encouraged to notify the meeting organizer at ppacg@ppacg.org before the start of the meeting with the agenda item they would like to comment on. Public comments can be submitted before the meeting via email to ppacg@ppacg.org for distribution to the committee members.

- Debrief Specialized Transit Plan community meetings. Chair Rumsey recapped that the plan is tracking through 2050 and does an update every five years. There have been 6 stakeholder meetings and they have specific focus groups working on needs and strategic planning. It was discussed to engage hospital schedulers and social workers more (hospital administrators are in attendance), skilled nursing facilities, senior housing resident councils. Also, acknowledged the need to get this document to state level elected officials. PPACG Board elected officials are aware of the needs and plans but state legislation does not seem to align with the plan.
- Review legislation on transportation and transit. Chair Rumsey highlighted a few of the bills: Increasing CDOT budget, statewide transit passes, pedestrian safety, emission remedies, transit oriented communities.
- Information Sharing
- CDOT has super call for capital projects.
- City of Fountain – 3/18 is National Driver Appreciation Week
- Downtown Partnership – drafting the State of Downtown report
- Silver Key – has received the CDOT contract for used vehicle purchase
- Teller Senior Coalition – vehicles with all wheel drive have made an impact this winter
- City of Colorado Springs – prepping for spring service changes
