SUBJECT: ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN

ACTION REQUESTED: Review & Recommend

SUMMARY

A final draft Active Transportation Plan has been prepared for review and recommendation. Preparation of the document has involved –

  • Data collection, existing conditions, review of past & present member government plans for an informed process
  • An extensive stakeholder process, including member governments, community organizations, schools and colleges, and others
  • 2 phases of public involvement; the federally required 30-day public comment period has recently concluded (results will be presented)
  • Demand analysis, safety analysis
  • Creation of a regional multi-use trail network and priority network
  • Recommended trail cross sections for regional consistency
  • Identification of gaps and opportunities for connecting existing trails, communities, and regional destinations
  • Preparation of funding guidance

The Active Transportation Plan has previously gone before TAC in March, June, July, and September 2024 and was the subject of a TAC workshop in April.

The project team is now seeking the TAC’s formal recommendation for adoption by the PPACG Board of Directors.

PROPOSED MOTION

Recommend approval.
