DATE: September 19, 2024
TO: PPACG Transportation Advisory Committee
FROM: Danelle Miller, Sr Transportation Planner
SUBJECT: FFY 2024 & FFY 2025 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM AMENDMENT 1 ADOPTION
ACTION REQUESTED: Review & Recommend
SUMMARY
Federal transportation planning regulations require PPACG to develop a Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) to specify transportation planning activities that will occur within the Metropolitan Planning Area. At a minimum, the UPWP includes a description of the planning work and resulting products, who will perform the work, timeframes for completing the work, the cost of the work, and the source(s) of funds.
Per federal regulations, PPACG develops a new UPWP every two years and updates it in the year in between new UPWPs. This year, we are amending the federal fiscal year (FFY) 2024 and FFY 2025 UPWP to account for changes in work tasks and budget. These changes are highlighted in yellow to accommodate easier review.
The document is currently out for public comment; however, in the interest of time and FHWA approval, PPACG would like to adopt the document and have any substantive changes be approved as an additional amendment.
PPACG is seeking a recommendation from the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) to the Board of Directors to adopt the UPWP.
PROPOSED MOTION
Recommend the Board of Directors adopt the UPWP.
