COLORADO SPRINGS – The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments Board of Directors adopted the amended Unified Planning Work Program for federal fiscal years 2026 and 2027 during its regular meeting on Sept. 9, 2026. The original program was adopted in 2025.

The Unified Planning Work Program was updated to specify transportation planning activities that will occur within the Metropolitan Planning Area during federal fiscal year 2027. The document shows that the Colorado Department of Transportation has provided $180,000 in additional funding to PPACG. This State Planning and Research Funding is federal funding that will be matched by toll credits, allowing for 100% federal participation. This funding will be for the development of a specialized transportation plan for the region and for a long range transportation plan survey and kickoff / open house. Both of these tasks were previously identified in the document but were noted as being contingent on funding availability.

In addition, financial information in the document was updated based on more accurate rollover funding and adjusted expenditures. No work tasks were adjusted.
