Lucy Crandall, Family Caregiving Support Lead at the Pikes Peak Area Agency on Aging
Lucy is the new supervisor at the Family Caregiver Support Center at the Area Agency on Aging. With over 25 years of experience serving older adults and their families , Lucy has found her true passion helping family caregivers. Training as an End of Life Doula and a degree in psychology has prepared her to compassionately guide and educate families as they navigate the many facets of aging. In her spare time, Lucy loves to be outdoors, talk about death and paddle board with her dog.
Dr. Rachel Thayer, Assistant Professor of Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs
Dr. Thayer joined the UCCS Psychology Department in Fall of 2019. She completed her dual doctoral training in clinical psychology and neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder, and her predoctoral clinical internship at the UCSD/VA San Diego Healthcare System Internship Training Program specializing in neuropsychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation. Her research has focused on how substance use influences cognitive functioning across lifespan development, with particular focus on cannabis use among older adults. More broadly, she is interested in factors influencing cognitive health with aging.
Dr. Rachel Weiskittle, Assistant Professor of Geropsychology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs
Dr. Weiskittle joined the UCCS Psychology Department in Fall 2021. She earned her PhD in clinical psychology with specialization in behavioral medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her predoctoral clinical internship in behavioral medicine at the Charleston Consortium Internship Program. Following her postdoctoral clinical fellowship in Geropsychology at the VA Boston Healthcare System, Dr. Weiskittle was an Advanced Research Fellow at the New England Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (NE GRECC).
